The Best Pizza in the North Shore
Debating the best pizza in the Chicago-land area is a debate that will rage until the end of time. But for the North Shore, we can point you in the right direction. With tons of choices, our list can give the already informed pizza connoisseur a run for his money. Check out some of the best pizza places on the North Shore.
Barnaby’s of Northbrook

960 Skokie Boulevard
Northbrook, IL 60062 www.barnabysofnorthbrook.com
A North Shore favorite for around 40 years now, Barnaby’s of Northbrook pleases the natives day in and day out with their special, not-so-secret ingredient: cornmeal. Most locals live by the cornmeal dusted thin crust and 100% real mozzarella cheese topping. The prices probably help Northbrook residents so committed, too.
Stop by and enjoy the unusual set up. Order pizza, baked mostaccioli and garlic bread or anything else off the menu at one counter, then continue to the bar to grab a Chicago-made Filbert’s Root Beer and then sit and wait. Finally enjoy the fresh; golden cornmeal dusted thin crust as much as you can. You won’t have to try too hard.
Piero's Pizza
335 Ridge Road
Wilmette, IL 60091
(847) 251 5550
www.pierospizza.com
More of a delivery or takeout place than a sit down restaurant, Piero’s cuts to the chase and offers Wilmette some great Chicago style pizza. Founder Filiberto Caporossi brought his own recipes over from Italy some years ago.
With standard fare for a pizza joint, Piero’s keeps it simple. The Piero’s special is a wonderful stuffed pizza with sausage, mushroom, green pepper and onion. For a pizza that filling, you could pay twice as much at other pizza places. Most Piero’s fans stick to the thin crust, but you won’t be disappointed by the deep dish either. The straight-off-the-boat Italian recipe will win you over.
